All of Picture Element's chosen Fine Art and Photo Papers and ink combinations fall within an "archival" category and most have been tested by Wilhelm Research in an accelerated aging laboratory. All have a life expectancy rating of 70-150+ years.
We have many printers and papers and each has it's own strengths. We upgrade them regularly to keep up with the latest technological advancements in fine art and commercial printing. We test driver and iink limits, and push them to preform beyond factory settings. We test dmax and gamut rigorusly and then create our own custom color profiles so we can produce the most accurate print with a color range unsurpassed anywhere else.

Canvas (solvent based)
A superior, bright white, low glare canvas with a coating built in. Our solvent based carrier for this printer/ink fuses with the satin finish of the canvas coating, making for a strong and durable final print without the need of coating afterwards. We can offer this canvas for 20% less cost than our traditional water based product that requires coating. The dmax and gamut are great and the printer uses 10 differnt inks. Together with our custom profiles, the quality rivals our fine art water based product, and has become popular alternative on commercial and even larger fine art jobs. |
Canvas (water based - fine art)
A superior, bright white, low glare canvas with the best D-max (blacks) we've ever seen. We use our matte black ink sets with this canvas to achieve a superior black and tonal range compared to other print makers. We coat the canvas with a special UV acrylic 2 coat system. This is done with great care using our HVLP spray system for a smooth even finish. We can produce satin, gloss, or matte finishes. |
